About
At Denexa Games, our goal is simple. We want to make your game night better. That means giving you the tools you need to give your players a smooth, professional experience you’ll be proud to share with them. A big part of that is making the best plastic playing cards we possibly can. Our secondary goal is spreading knowledge about card games, both their rules and how to host them, teaching you what you need to know to put together a truly great game night.
Scott Nazelrod
Scott Nazelrod is the founder and president of Denexa Games. He made his first deck of cards at the age of 9, drawing them on the back of a bunch of business cards with magic markers. When he moved out on his own, he started hosting a weekly poker night every Tuesday. This was when he first discovered plastic playing cards, and found that none of the cards on the market at the time met his standards for quality and durability. That’s when he started the process of designing what became Denexa 100% Plastic Playing Cards.
Scott has worked for ten years in the casino gaming industry, where he’s met with dozens of card dealers, both poker and blackjack, to get their input about what makes a deck of cards a pleasure to deal for hours on end. He was also able to pick up a thing or two about how casino card games are dealt, giving him plenty of ideas for how to translate that to a home game setting.
Scott is also an avid player of Dungeons & Dragons, alternating between playing a triton druid and DMing. Watch out for the magical Denexa “Deck of Many Things” when he’s running the game–one wrong draw and you might spend the rest of the day as a gnome!
Reneé Perry
Reneé Perry is the vice-president of Denexa Games, and Scott’s wife. Reneé also has ten years of experience in casino gaming. During this time, Reneé learned the ins and outs of ensuring game integrity and security. This knowledge was instrumental in ensuring that Denexa 100% Playing Cards provide a fair and secure experience to your players.
What’s “Denexa” mean, anyway?
Denexa means “playing cards” in the Draconic language. If you ever have to play a card game with a dragon, make sure to bring your Denexa 100% Plastic Playing Cards, because their sharp talons tend to shred paper cards to bits!
